Ipsy February 2015 #IpsyLove

I really liked this month's bag, apart from one item. The bag this month is really cute. It is solid hot pink on one side, and the cute pink, white, and grey pattern on the other. I don't like that the zipper is on the side instead of the top, but it's still cute!! I find myself collecting and hoarding these bags instead of using them!! A few of them have been taken by my sister, niece and mom, but anything for the family right!! This month's theme is love, for obvious reasons, and the accompanying hashtag #IpsyLove. Let's get into what I received this month.

Ipsy is a $10 monthly subscription "Glam" bag that includes 4 to 5 deluxe samples and full-size items. To learn more about Ipsy and become a subscriber, click here!

I love blushes of this shade because I feel they complement my skin complexion well. It has a very smooth feel to it and can be blended out to a beautiful peachy-sheen, similar to Nars orgasm blush. I absolutely love this blush!

Cargo Mini Lip Gloss in Anguilla

I was excited about this lip gloss upon opening my bag, but that excitement soon dwindled a bit. It is opaque and it has a pleasant smell, but it applies patchy and thick, and it is too pale a pink for my skin tone. It appears darker in the tube than it does on the lips. If applied over a darker lipstick it may be more wearable for me.

Eva NYC Up All Night Volumizing Spray ($10)

This is a product I don't have a need for because I don't feel this is made for African-American hair. It is to be used on wet hair before blow drying for texture and lift, and also protects against heat. It also says that it could be used on dry hair as a revitalizing spray, so maybe I will try it out anyway. Egh!! I hate getting hair items in my bag, other than oil, because I never use them.
Luxie Large Angled Face Brush 504 ($16)

This brush is AMAZINGLY soft!! It is dense enough to use with liquid/cream products and soft enough to use powder products. It is said to be coated in an antibacterial solution to stay clean longer, and does not absorb products into the bristles. I love everything about this brush!!
Pencil Me In cosmetics Natural Eye Liner in Amethyst ($6.99)

I'm kind of on the fence about the pencil. It is in a gorgeous dark purple color but it applies patchy even though it feels creamy. It's ok I guess!! Purple complements my brown eyes well, so I will definitely try this eyeliner out.

Ipsy January 2015

Today I will be giving you the rundown on the January Ipsy bag, which is themed "Fresh Start". I was kind of dissappointed in this bag in the beginning because I felt that it was so boring. I received two... 2 lip balms!!! They could have replaced one of the lip balms with the Elizabeth Mott eyeshadow brush or the Real Techniques eyeliner brush... but no, they gave me two lip balms. Ok... no more ranting!! The Atrida Naturals Orange mint flavored lip balm didn't impress or excite me, but the (Malin+Goetz) mojito flavored lip balm is amazing. It is a liquid and slightly glossy lip balm with fatty acids absorption technology. It has already entered my makeup bag!! The next product I received in my bag was Lash Food, which is a product that helps grow stronger and thicker lashes. It is said to be similar to the prescription Latisse, and has a small brush applicator to get close to the lash line. I plan to use this on my eyebrows because they are pretty much nonexistent!! Up next, Pacifica natural mineral coconut, yes coconut, eye shadow in the shade Treasure. This eyeshadow is soft and swatches beautifully, and is gorgeous on the lid! Lastly, the Probelle nail polish in the shade  Into the Blue. It claims to be long-lasting and high gloss, and is also 3-free.

Ipsy is a $10 monthly subscription service that gives 4-5 deluxe samples  or full size products in a stylish makeup bag. If you are interested in becoming a subscriber click here!
